TURBO – 2009 WAHO Trophy Winner – Turkey

TURBO, Grey stallion, *2005 (Rikardo / Gulbanaz).
Breeder & Owner: Mr. Erdin Duzarat.
Strain: Maneghi (Matra, 1927).

The purebred Arabian horse called Turbo has been selected from all the candidates by the Commission formed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, as the winner of Turkey’s 2009 WAHO Trophy.

This horse displays all the phenotypic features of the Purebred Arabian Horse. He showed an extremely good race performance between the years 2008-2009, participating in 29 races, of which he won 27 including 7 Group I races, 6 Group II races, and 6 Group III races. He was also placed 2nd in the Group I Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Affairs Cup at Ankara.

Turbo proved brave and versatile, as he won on good and heavy going, on both turf and dirt surfaces, over distances from 800 metres to 2,400 metres at 5 different racecourses. His most important win in 2009 was probably the prestigious International Malazgirt Trophy, overcoming the top-quality foreign opposition by an impressive 2 lengths.

The WAHO Trophy was presented at a special public ceremony held on 28th February 2010, at Izmir Sirinyer Racecourse.
