The Lithuanian Arabian Horse Association is pleased to announce the winner of the 2021 WAHO Trophy is the 14 year old mare, Sakura.   Her sire, Bosas, won the first edition of the WAHO Trophy in 2005, and has been a very influential breeding stallion in Lithuania, including as the sire or grand-sire of several WAHO Trophy winners there.

Sakura was bred by the State Stud at Vilnius, she became a Show Champion in 2012, and went on to have many good results in endurance competitions as well as being a wonderful teacher for young riders.  After a few years ‘maternity leave’ she is now back enjoying competing in endurance again, with her young rider Jogaile Duleviciute.

Citation from her owner:

“Sakura always come from the furthest edge of the pasture when called, she always choses human attention. When you look into the eyes of every horse an inexplicable warmth and goodness floods you, but when you look into Sakura’s eyes, you realise that if there is a special generosity of spirit, it is in the heart of that horse.”
