The Fondation Nationale D’Amelioration De La Race Chevaline has decided to award their WAHO Trophy 2005 in the category of Arabian racing, which is a very popular and highly competitive activity for Arabian horses in Tunisia.

The award has been made to the fine chestnut stallion, Ourabi, who was the 2005 winner of the most important race in Tunisia, ” Le Grand Prix du Président de la Répulique”.

This horse was born in Maknassy, and is bred and owned by people from Maknassy. His sire and dam were bred in Maknassy. So the success of this horse is certainly due to this region, which is known by the greatest interest it gives for Arabian horse breeding and to the particularities of its breeding methods relative to the hard climatic conditions, which makes horses very resistant and bred in natural conditions.

So it has been a great pleasure for the institution FNARC to reward the breeders of this region by awarding the WAHO Trophy to their winning horse OURABI.
