KAFKASLI – 2006 WAHO Trophy Winner – Turkey

KAFKASLI, Bay stallion, *2002 (Cas / 18. Malike).
Breeder: Karacabey State Stud. Owner: Mr. Remazan Kaya.
Strain: Ubeyyan (Malike 1929).

A special commission formed by the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has selected the young stallion KAFKASLI from a number of candidates as the winner of Turkey’s 2006 WAHO Trophy.

They considered that KAFKASLI displays all the phenotypic features of the purebred Arabian horse. In particular, he showed very good performance on the racetrack in the years 2005 and 2006, when he took part in a total of 49 races. Of these, and in a country where the racing is very competitive, he achieved the excellent record of 29 wins on both turf and artificial surfaces at racetracks all over Turkey, including Istanbul, Ankara, Adana, and Bursa. These included 6 Group I wins, 5 Group II wins and 14 Group III wins. Kafkasli also placed in 18 further races. His sire, Cas, won 15 Group races between the years 1996-2000, and is making his mark as a successful sire, with progeny such as Fermande, Uçanbey, Zigana and Zirve.

It is considered that KAFKASLI promises a good future as a sire for Turkish Arabian breeding and racing.
