The 2009 WAHO Compiègne Trophy was awarded to the mare Orette De Tanues, winner of the World Young Horse Endurance Championships for 7-year olds.
Formerly ridden in endurance events by French rider Phillippe Tomas, at this event Orette De Tanues was ridder to victory for her new owners in Qatar by Faleh Nasser Saleh Abugnaim. In 15th place at the first vet gate, she worked her way through the field to be in 2nd place at both the second and third vet gates, finally taking the title by a clear 5 minutes in a time of 6:30:10. Her pedigree is mainly French and Polish with additional Marbach and old Egyptian lines. Her sire Kesberoy (Saint Laurent / Keiba) is renowned as a leading sire of racehorses and her dam Daisy Du Cayrou (Dia Oua / Siham) is also the dam of other successful racing and endurance horses.
